Founded in 1965 by the late Mr Jeffrey Yeo Hang Lim, Yeo Teck Seng (S) Pte Ltd is a stalwart local company which has established itself over the years as the exclusive distributor of an extensive selection of quality home ware and kitchenware brands.
Then a wholesaler and retailer dealing in all types of kitchenware and over 1,000 kinds of knife ware from butcher knives to blades and can-openers, Yeo Teck Seng (S) Pte Ltd was one of the first companies to import and export these products from countries such as England, Germany, Australia, Italy and the United States, offering consumers here with a varied assortment of household tools. Some of these wares were sold locally while the rest was re-exported to Indonesia and Malaysia.
In the early 1970s, renowned German brand Zwilling J.A. Henckels appointed Yeo Teck Seng (S) Pte Ltd as the sole distributor of its range of premium stainless steel knives and the brand has since expanded its products to include cookware, gadgets and manicure beauty tools. Zwilling J.A. Henckels remains as one of the company’s flagship brands.
During the same period, Yeo Teck Seng introduced TEFAL to the local market, making the company one of the pioneers to launch non-stick cookware here.
The company grew from strength to strength and brought in more internationally well-known brands such as Brabantia, BODUM®, Schott Zwiesel as well as UMBRA. Most of the brands are retailed at major departmental stores in Singapore and in Kuala Lumpur, with two independent specialty Zwilling J.A. Henckels stores in KL.
The philosophy of the company is to source for brands that possess a solid concept, good design and are reasonably priced. Mr Steven Yeo, Managing Director explained, “As consumers become more discerning, we need to be able to bring to them quality products and brands which are innovative and creative as much as they are utilitarian as well”.
Yeo Teck Seng (S) Pte Ltd is constantly seeking out new opportunities and hopes to consolidate its position as one of Singapore’s premium household and kitchenware brand distributors. Currently, the company is the sole distributor of more than 15 international brands from mainly Europe and USA.
