Founded in 1731, Zwilling J.A. Henckels is based in Solingen, Germany and is one of the oldest trademarks in the world.
Zwilling J.A. Henckels opened the first trading outlet in 1818 in Berlin, and started branching out to other European countries, like Denmark and Holland. They operate with own retail shops, studios and also partner shops in Germany and internationally. Zwilling J.A Henckels is currently known worldwide for the quality of the knives they produce and in addition, they house an umbrella of brands under them.
In 2004, Henckels Took over Japanese Knife Manufacturer Nippa along with U.S Beauty Specialists Tweezerman. Cookware companies like Demeyere and Staub were taken over by Henckels during the spring of 2008.
